“Rajaz” is a mysterious, ancient form of traditional Arabic poetry, with an unusual meter created by nomadic desert tribes immeasurably long ago. It is thought to be the root of around 3% of classic Arabic verse; a haunting relic of one of the world’s oldest musical patterns, a distant echo of a world long departed.

As demonstrated in this somber rock melody, songs written in Rajaz (urjūza) match the unique cadence of traveling across the endless sands of times onboard the steadfast, untiring ships of the desert.

It is, indeed, the rhythm of the camel.
